Europe Rich Target for mobile advertising

Young European males are a rich target for mobile advertisers, according to research released this week.

Men in this age group are also highly receptive to SMS advertising, with 9 per cent responding to an SMS advert they received, versus a 4 per cent market average. And the Brits are even more susceptible, with one third of all UK mobile media users admitting they are tempted to buy products they’ve seen advertised, versus 28 per cent of internet users.
M:Metrics found that in Western Europe, the male population is more inclined to browse and download content on the mobile web. During February, fully a quarter of all male mobile phone users accessed mobile media, compared to just under 19 per cent of women. This audience is also quite young, with 28 per cent of 13 to 17 year olds consuming mobile media, compared to only 12 per cent of those 55 and older.
“Reaching the 18 to 34-year-old age demographic is a real challenge to advertisers, as this group is spending less time consuming print and broadcast media,” said Paul Goode, senior analyst at M:Metrics. “According to TGI M:Metrics data, in Great Britain, young consumers are redirecting that attention to mobile, as 18 to 34 year olds comprise 56 per cent of mobile media users, compared to only 29 percent of TV viewers”.

i currently work in the field of mobile advertising, i am a sales man for mobile advertising in a mobile & interactive solutions company, which represents a major value added service provider in Europe on the operational level. I have been working in the mobile field for the past 2 years, and personally interested in mobile on all application levels. hopefully, in my world at least, mobile would become a preferred access point to all kinds of services by no more than the year 2013.
I recently had a conversation with an entrepreneur, specializing in technology venture capital , who had attended a conference , where the key note speaker , a top high level exec from google, said it plain and simple, “mobile, mobile, mobile”.
